I assisted 20 (±100 students) student groups throughout the Industrial Ergonomics course, which was divided into five modules: Anthropometry & Grip Strength, Energy Cost of Work, Biomechanics & Manual Material Handling (MMH), Human Information Processing, and the Final Project. During this time, I collaborated closely with 18 other teaching assistants to ensure alignment on the content and delivery of each module.

Maintenance Planner Intern

I focused on identifying which spare parts were most critical during maintenance by analyzing monthly demand trends over a two year period. After observing the trends, I performed demand forecasting for the upcoming period. Based on the forecast, I calculated the appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels, as well as the required safety stock in the warehouse. I also determined the reorder point, taking into account how critical each spare part is.
To validate the proposed inventory levels, I compared them with the company's existing minimum and maximum stock settings to identify any discrepancies. Then, I conducted a Monte Carlo simulation using delivery lead time as a probabilistic variable since lead time is inherently uncertain. The simulation helped assess whether our proposed inventory strategy, including minimum and maximum stock levels, safety stock, and reorder point, could result in an optimal scenario that minimizes total cost such as holding and ordering costs while ensuring that forecasted demand can still be met reliably.
