As part of my undergraduate final project, I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of hydrocarbon prospectivity by collecting and analyzing seismic and drilling data. The project involved integrating seismic interpretation with well log analysis to identify potential hydrocarbon-bearing zones. I utilized industry-standard software such as Hampson-Russell and Petrel (Schlumberger) for geophysical and geological subsurface analysis. In addition, I prepared technical reports and visual presentations using Microsoft Office to communicate findings for both academic and internal review purposes. The outcomes of this project contributed to the company’s assessment of potential new oil and gas well prospects.

Developed a solid foundational understanding of petroleum systems, including source rock, migration pathways, reservoir characteristics, seals, and trap mechanisms. Interpreted well log and seismic data to evaluate subsurface structures and assess hydrocarbon potential. Conducted geological and geophysical analyses to delineate the extent of identified structures and estimate oil and gas volumes. Utilized Petrel (Schlumberger) software for seismic interpretation, structural mapping, and volumetric calculations to support hydrocarbon prospect evaluation. The results of this study assisted the company in identifying hydrocarbon closures and were also credited as part of my undergraduate internship practical work.
