I have experience monitoring and controlling the operation of rotary kilns and electric furnaces through Distributed Control System (DCS) interfaces to ensure stable and efficient production processes. I have been involved in producing ferronickel and managing metal waste byproducts such as slag using hydrometallurgical methods operating at high temperatures around 1500°C and under vacuum pressure. My role required continuous communication with field operators, maintenance personnel, and upstream and downstream units to coordinate activities and maintain smooth operations. I was also responsible for monitoring emissions and environmental control parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, I consistently recorded and analyzed critical process data, including temperature trends, electrode consumption, power usage, and production volumes, to support process optimization and operational efficiency.

I have analyzed the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) for refining crude oil into base oil, focusing on the key stages such as distillation, hydroprocessing, and solvent extraction to understand the flow of materials, energy integration, and separation efficiencies. As part of this analysis, I evaluated the performance of the 260F-1011 furnace within the HTU Lube Oil Complex (LOC) III Unit by applying the heat loss method. This involved assessing the thermal efficiency of the furnace by quantifying heat input versus losses due to flue gases, radiation, and convection. The evaluation provided insights into areas for energy optimization, enabling recommendations for reducing fuel consumption and improving overall furnace efficiency within the refining process.
