Technical Support Laboratory and Production Chemistry Team Intern

During my internship, I actively participated in field sampling activities by collecting crude oil and produced water samples from oilfield facilities for laboratory analysis. In the laboratory, I performed testing to determine the optimal dosage of Pour Point Depressant (PPD) using a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) to evaluate thermal behavior and pour point reduction. I also conducted viscosity measurements of crude oil to assess flow characteristics and the effectiveness of chemical additives. Additionally, I assisted in routine produced water analysis, including pH, salinity, and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) measurements. I gained hands-on experience at the Central Gas Station (CGS), observing oil, gas, and water separation processes, chemical injection systems, and production equipment. I supported the Production Chemistry and Laboratory teams in monitoring and evaluating chemical treatment programs such as demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors. Furthermore, I contributed to data documentation and reporting for chemical performance evaluations and troubleshooting operational issues. Through this experience, I developed a practical understanding of upstream oil and gas production, laboratory procedures, and the integration between field operations and analytical testing.
